Nonconsensual Pornography
Phobits takes personal rights seriously, and one of those rights is not to have someone post sexually explicit photos without your consent.
NCP is the posting of sexually explicit images of another person for the purpose of harassing, intimidating, or embarrassing them. Nonconsensual Pornography (NCP), known as Revenge Porn, is explicitly against the laws in most States, including within the State of Florida where Phobits operates. NCP can also violate State and federal laws regarding stalking, extortion, child pornography, hacking, unlawful use of personal information, federal and telecommunications laws.
Phobits will not expose individuals or itself to such violations and will remove content that is reported by the victim of Nonconsensual Pornography. Nonconsensual Pornography is against our Terms of Use and can result in the closing of the offending account.
Posting sexually explicit photos of someone under 18 years of age is a federal crime. If you believe the revenge porn is of someone under 18 years of age, please see our page for reporting Child Pornography.
Report Nonconsensual Pornography to the Police
Most States have laws concerning nonconsensual pornography, so it is important to make a report to your local law enforcement; that is usually a Sheriff. They may provide additional assistance to you and perhaps to any other victims.
Seek Legal Assistance
Under federal and State law, you may be entitled to protections against further abuses of nonconsensual pornography, and you may be entitled to monetary compensation. It is advisable to seek legal counsel to know and understand your rights. Phobits cannot be your legal counsel and does not provide legal advice, but we can help you remove the offending content if you report it to Phobits.
