What is Child Pornography?

Child pornography is a serious form of abuse and exploitation of children and is illegal in the United States. Phobits is taking action to help prevent child pornography, and you can help too.

Federal law defines child pornography as any visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct involving persons less than 18 years of age. Federal law prohibits the production, distribution, reception, or possession of any image of child pornography. Violation of federal child pornography laws is a serious crime, and convicted offenders can face monetary fines and be imprisoned for many years.

Report Child Pornography to Authorities

It is important that you report your knowledge or suspicion of child pornography to law enforcement authorities so that they may find and help the victims. You can't do it wrong, just do it now.

Please report your concerns directly law enforcement by dialing 911 and tell them what you know. The 911 operator will make the appropriate report to their local law enforcement agency who will contact federal and State agencies as needed.

Phobits also needs you to report your concerns to us so that we may remove the offending material from viewing any further. Please see the section below to help you report child pornography to Phobits.

Report Child Pornography to Phobits

You may report child pornography on Phobits using one of the methods described in the Reporting Methods section below. Please read the required information in the next section and be sure to include the required information when making your report.

Needed Information

You may report your concerns of child pornography to Phobits via email or postal using the email address or postal address below. Please include the following information so that we may find the offending content and take appropriate actions.

1. The URL, or link, to the offending material, if possible, as it is important for us to find that material.
2. The name of the account containing the offending content, if you cannot provide a link.
3. Your phone number or email address so that we may contact you in case we need more information, and we usually do need more information.
You may remain anonymous and not provide this information, but it significantly decreases the chances of correcting this problem. All reports are held as confidential and your personal information will not be disclosed.
