Accessibility
At Phobits, we realize that some people have temporary or permanent disabilities that can make using web sites difficult. We strive to ensure each feature of our website provides the ease of use all our customers need.
We understand a disability can be blindness or simply a temporary issue with a pair of lost glasses. Even slow Internet connections due to any number of factors can be a limiting accessibility issue. Some people have only a small device like a tablet or smartphone, and some might need to view our website in bright sunlight. A person may be wheelchair bound and use an intelligent pointer to navigate websites. Whatever your needs, Phobits tries to ensure our website can be used by you.
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, which was published on 5 June 2018, outlines many aspects of making a website accessible to as many persons as possible, regardless of disability or capability. You can go to the WCAG website for technical information about the guidelines established for website standards for providing accessibility to all persons.
Telecommunications Act Section 255 Accessibility Guidelines
Phobits also complies with the Telecommunications Act Section 255 Accessibility Guidelines. Similar to the WCAG guidelines, these are guidelines to help companies understand the types of designs their website needs to undertake in order to be accessible to those with limitations or alternative needs for using a website.
Americans with Disabilities Act
The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), as amended also provides guidance for the accessibility designs for websites. Phobits makes every effort to ensure our website has the right design for everyone to enjoy our website.
Visual Limitations
Phobits designs its website to be attractive, but we also consider those that might not see color or have limited vision acuity. We are sure to use good contrast with our colors so that words and images stand out. Our website can be resized to very large sizes for enhanced readability by those using large displays that show magnified content. We also ensure to make our website viewable on small devices for those with limited hardware capabilities.
Text Sizes
Many aspects of the WCAG define such things as text spacing and text size, and we have designed our website to accommodate those that need such considerations. We also found by doing so the text on our website looks even better!
No Animations
Many modern websites use animations but that limits accessibility use. Phobits has designed our website not to use animations or other techniques that are not accessible compatible. People using website readers like text to speech software have a difficult time with such things as animations. We found not using animations helps with the performance and usability of our website for all users.
