Phobits Completes Technology Transition

1 September 2023, Technical Affairs

Phobits completed a significant transition to new technologies to serve our customers better now and into the future.

Technology become stale after a few years, and even the best designs will need upgrading to newer technologies and methods of design. Phobits is no different. Having started in 2015, the technology used at Phobits was state of the art, but after nearly 10 years it was in need for transitioning to newer technologies.

One of the advantages to using the latest proven technologies is that the development staff appreciate working with easier to use, more productive, more secure, and feature rich development tools and technologies. The transition to an entire set of newer technologies included database products, networking protocols, and web application libraries and languages. While the transition meant fewer new features were introduced during the transition period, it does mean new features going forward will be more secure and easier to produce. This should accelerate the Phobits product development with newer features coming out sooner.

The improvements in performance was noticeable, and we expect greater performance and security going forward.

Phobits Completes Corporate Move

3 December 2021, Corporate Affairs

Phobits completed a major physical location move to the Great State of Florida!

Phobits has relocated its headquarters, product development, and operations centers to the panhandle of Florida to take advantage of the favorable business climate. Florida maintains laws that prevent the shuttering of services that Phobits provides that other States do not. There is far less of a chance that any future pandemic issue will not affect the development or operation of Phobits. Florida also maintains a better tax rate that allows more capital to be invested into Phobits.

A secondary benefit is the the speed of light concern that data centers have. This is where the time it takes to transmit data to a customer is reliant on the speed of light to get it there. By relocating to a central area, service to more people living along the eastern half of the United States is favorable. There are also significantly more fiber optic communications lines throughout the area that also make for more reliable distribution services.

A third, and significant, benefit is that our employee enjoy the sunshine, beaches, and friendly atmosphere of Florida. Florida is a large State with many opportunities for exploring, entertainment, and a family friendly lifestyle. Florida is also a gateway to many other places such as the Bahamas, Virgin Islands, Mexico, and other places that allow weekend excursions. With so much to do in Florida, our employees are enjoying the transition to Florida and recruitment is much easier with eager candidates wanting to live in Florida.
